Architect Taro Tsuruta and writer Chris Roberts conceived of the queen of Catford to explore some aspects of Catford’s history through the use of a fictional narrative rooted around the area’s film industry and theatre. The narrative follows the lives of two young girls who meet on the Broadway and share their hopes, fears, and dreams. By anchoring their story to a specific building in the regeneration project Taro and Chris hope to present a focal point around which others can dream of alternative Catfords, past, and future, as well as investigating the heritage of SE6 whether the dogs, football team, film or river. There are thousands of stories by the river ford once used by wild cats why not share yours? One day your story might become a part of Catford’s future project…
